Building the tower step by step
Step 1: lay the base of the tower
It all starts on the floor. Take 5 Kapla planks and lay them flat on the ground, side by side, to form a good stable square.
Step 2: start the walls in Kapla
On two sides of your base, stand a plank on edge, upright, square to the ground.
💡 Astuce : we suggest laying the 2 Kapla the other way round from the ones you have just laid, for extra stability!
Step 3: build up all four sides
Do the same on the two remaining sides: stand two more planks on edge, at right angles to the first ones.
Step 4: take the tower up
Time to climb! Repeat steps 2 and 3, switching direction with every row.
💡 Astuce : you can start with 8 Kapla-heights to begin with, and add even more Kapla next time :)
Step 5: close the top with the planks
Once your tower has reached the height you want, it's time to close it off. Lay planks flat, one next to the other, to make a solid ceiling. Just as with the base, 5 Kapla are enough!
Step 6: build the roof
To finish, stack the last 7 planks, shifting each one slightly, like the steps of a staircase narrowing towards the top.
Frequently asked questions
Our easy Kapla tower model takes about 30 planks (32 to 33 to be precise, depending on whether you add the final Kapla).
Little ones can use this model on their own from age 4 (even 3.5), though we suggest building it with them the first time.
