Build the tree step by step
Step 1: lay the trunk
Lay six planks flat in two rows of three, tight against one another. This is the trunk of your tree.
Step 2: add the roots
At the foot of the trunk, lay four Kapla spreading out on each side. These are the roots, which hold the tree in the ground.
Step 3: start the first branches
At the top of the trunk, lay four planks fanning out, like the fingers of an open hand.
Step 4: draw the leaves
Go round the top of the tree with nine planks end to end. This is the crown, all the leaves of the tree.
Step 5: fill the crown
Slip the last four branches in between the first ones, inside the crown. Your tree is finished!
Frequently asked questions
It takes 27: 6 for the trunk, 4 for the roots, 8 for the branches and 9 for the crown of leaves.
No: a tree’s branches go a little in every direction. Follow the picture for the direction, and leave a small gap so no plank rides up on its neighbour.
