Build the snowflake step by step
Step 1: lay the heart
Lay six planks flat in a star, like the spokes of a wheel, without letting them touch in the middle. This is the heart of the snowflake.
Step 2: lengthen the arms
At the end of each spoke, lay a second plank straight on from it. Your snowflake now has six long arms.
Step 3: open the first branches
Near the middle of each arm, lay one Kapla at an angle, on one side only, pointing outwards.
Step 4: finish the branches
Do the same on the other side of each arm: every arm opens into a V. Your snowflake is finished!
Frequently asked questions
It takes 24: 12 for the six arms and 12 for the branches, two per arm.
Give them all the same angle, half the corner of a sheet of paper, and leave a small gap against the arm. The two branches of each arm then make a neat V.
